If you only ever read one article about the new corona virus, make it this article by Tomas Pueyo. Read it all the way to the end. It points the way to effective and hopeful policy more than anything else I have read. Then contact your elected representatives and tell them to read it. Then contact everyone you know and tell them to do the same. If the information in this article can spread faster than the virus (and it can) we might be able to beat this thing. But time is very, very short. Do it now.

The article you link to is a followup to his original article, which for the past week I've been referring everyone I know to, as the best analysis I've been able to find on the subject so far. (I especially loved the modelling to look at current deaths and current positive tests, and infer likely current infection numbers that we can't measure directly. Also, conveniently for me, he happened to use the SF bay area and even San Mateo County as specific concrete examples.)
Glad to see he wrote a followup.
