Your tax dollars at work

Speaking of morally reprehensible uses of taxpayer dollars, the Pentagon is going to spend $20M of your money to celebrate how well things are going in Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't know about you, but I can think of more effective ways to deploy that capital. (Of course, at the Pentagon $20M isn't capital, it's petty cash.)

hmm if they spend 20 million when we are not even winning, image how big the party will be if after spending the expected 75 years of future oocupation from now....isnt that current timeline to win?

Yeah, I read about that. It's ridiculous, also they recently approved another $70 billion for the 'War on Terror' bringing the total spent to around $500 billion. Wow. Liberal Candy

To keep the morally reprehensible aspect in persepctive, if as much money were spent on troop essentials, i.e. body armor, we might have more to be celebrating. I supported the removal of Saddam Hussein from power. The parade of bit players and failed leadership that has followed makes me almost nostalgic for the days when we had a face to put with the killer...
