He's been trying to make a clear case for less government and fewer executive powers for years. Which means that there's hope for turning Republicans around on a few topics.
If I can get a Republican to shut up for long enough, I like to pose the possibility that Hillary won the election and has all of these "War on Terror" executive powers. You can almost see the cognitive dissonance on their faces. Strangely, most come up with some way to equivocate (Hillary will never win!) instead of actually considering the argument.
