According to documents acquired (finally) by Judicial Watch under a FOIA request, oil executives participating in secret meetings with Vice President Dick Cheney to discuss national energy policy were looking at maps of Iraqi oil fields in March of 2001.
I'm not sure which is more disturbing in light of subsequent events: that they were looking at these maps six months before 9/11, or that they fought tooth and nail to keep anyone from finding out about it.
