John Kerry finds his spine

Finally.

  1. that is refreshingly uncharacteristic. Too bad all the laws and vote rigging infrastructure is well in place now. His meekly accepted loss in 2004 may well have been the last chance if it wasn't too late already.

    Of course the real problem is that the democrates don't want true democracy any more than the rebuplicans do. How many of them really represent any major popular consensuses (sp? consensi, whatever)? They are simply slightly less bad, and they don't want third party or independents, intelligent policy debates, accountability, etc.

    Interesting weeks coming up...

    I'm not sure that's true, but I do agree that the Dems are as bad as the Repubs in many ways. Still, I'd much rather have the Dems keeping George Bush in check for the next two years than stick with the status quo.

    But the long term problem is that we have made politics suck so badly as a career choice that only idiots and zealots are willing to put up with the bullshit. So it's no great surprise that we get governments full of idiots and zealots.
